Second-ranked Wisconsin Badger women’s volleyball team rolled to a 25-9, 26-24, 25-10 victory over Western Michigan in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.  The fourth-seeded Badgers (29-2) will face Illinois State at 7pm tonight at the UW Field House.

Haleigh Nelson and Ellen Chapman had 11 kills apiece for the Badgers.

Illinois State fought off Marquette to win its opening round match 3-2.  The Redbirds were down two sets-to-none when they fought back to win three straight games to pull out the win over the Golden Eagles.

Marquette’s season comes to a close at 24-9.
