Badger women earn rare Big Ten road victory

January 16, 2015 By Bill Scott

MotionW_2ColorThe Wisconsin women’s basketball team earned its first Big Ten road victory in more than a year, knocking off the Purdue Boilermakers 65-56 in West Lafayette, Indiana on Thursday night.

Dakota Whyte scored 14 points for the Badgers (7-9, 3-3 Big Ten) who last won a Big Ten road game on Jan. 3, 2014, beating Illinois on that day, 76-64 in overtime in Champaign.

The Badgers also equaled their Big Ten win total of a year ago with 12 conference games remaining.

Purdue (9-8, 2-4) was forced to foul down the stretch and the Badgers salted the game away by making 7 of 8 over the last 1:13 from the foul line.
