Larry Sanders
While the Milwaukee Bucks have won four straight road games, they haven’t been able to find their way at home of late. Markieff Morris scored 26 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to help the Phoenix Suns knock off the Bucks 102-96 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center on Tuesday night.
Brandon Knight had 26 points and Giannis Antetokounmpo added 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Bucks. John Henson and Khris Middleton added 13 points each and Jared Dudley added 10 points for a Bucks team that hasn’t won at home since December 13th against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Bucks were close down the stretch, down 81-80 on an O.J. Mayo basket with 7:19 to play, but they would get no closer.
The Bucks have played well on the road (11-10) this season and that’s where they’re headed tonight. The Bucks will face the Philadelphia 76ers in Philadelphia.
Larry Sanders update
Larry Sanders wasn’t in uniform last night, but he was back at the Bradley Center for the first two in two weeks. Sanders watched in street clothes on the Bucks bench, then met with reporters after the game.
A report on Twitter on Monday said Sanders had told team officials recently that he didn’t want to play basketball any longer. Sanders, who is in the first year of a four-year, $44-million contract, denied that’s the case.
Coach Jason Kidd continued to say there appears to be no timetable for Sanders return.
“There’s not right now,” Sanders said. “I kind of go by recommendations, so I’m definitely keeping my ear to those who are close to me and see what they say is best for my health moving forward.”
Sanders was asked how much of a priority basketball is for him at this point.
“Without these things being corrected, I don’t think basketball would be something I could even do. I have to work my way back to try to be able to play.”
