Keifer Sykes
Green Bay Phoenix point guard Keifer Sykes extended his own league record by winning his 12th career Horizon League Player of the Week award.
Sykes poured in 86 points as Green Bay opened Horizon League play last week with three double-digit victories. The senior guard averaged 28.7 points in the three games, shooting 53.6% from the field (30-56), 50 percent from three-point range (9 of 18) and 81% from the free-throw line (17 of 21). Sykes also averaged five rebounds and 4.8 assists in the three games.
Sykes scored 28 points last Monday in a 79-55 win over Wright State. He scored 34 in a 79-63 victory at Milwaukee and 24 points in Sunday nights 82-67 win over Youngstown State.
Sykes now has 1,809 points in his career, moving him into fourth place on Green Bay’s all-time scoring list.
