Maldonado avoids salary arbitration with Brewers

January 16, 2015 By Bill Scott

Milwaukee Brewers logoMilwaukee Brewers backup catcher Martin Maldonado signed a two-year, $1.95 million deal, avoiding salary arbitration.  The signing leaves outfielder Gerardo Parra as the only remaining arbitration-eligible player for the Brewers.

Maldonado earned $502,000 last season after playing in 52 games with 126 at bats.  He hit .234 with four home runs and 16 RBI.

Maldonado has appeared in 200 games overall with the Brewers, hitting .225 with 16 homers and 68 RBI.
