Panthers remain winless on the road – HL Update

Milwaukee Panthers logoThe UW-Milwaukee Panthers got a season-high 15 points from J.J. Panoske but fell to Oakland, 66-53 in Horizon League action in Rochester, Michigan on Thursday night.

The Panthers (7-13, 2-4 HL) saw their 2-game win streak come to an end.  They fell to 0-9 on the road this season.

The Golden Grizzlies (8-12, 3-2) were led by Kahlil Felder and Corey Petros, who scored 18 points each.

Oakland trailed 29-28 at halftime, then shot 61.5% in the second half to take control.

Matt Tiby added 13 points and seven rebounds for UWM.  He has now reached 10 or more points in 11 straight games.

Milwaukee is now 8-2 all time against Oakland.  They swept both games last season.

Green Bay Phoenix

The Green Bay Phoenix is looking to improve to 10-0 at home this season when they host Valparaiso tonight at the Resch Center.

Green Bay (16-4, 5-1 HL) and Valparaiso (18-3, 5-1) are tied for the Horizon League lead, along with Cleveland State.

The only league loss for both teams came at Oakland.  Green Bay is 5th and Valparaiso 6th in the CollegeInsider.com Top-25 Mid-Major Poll.
