Keifer Sykes
Green Bay Phoenix senior point guard Keifer Sykes has been awarded two national player of the week honors. The point guard was named the Naismith Trophy National Player of the Week and the CollegeInsider.com Lou Henson National Player of the Week.
Earlier in the week, Sykes was named the Horizon League Player of the Week for the 12th time, extending his own league record.
In three games last week, Sykes averaged 28.7 points and shot 53.6 percent from the field as the Phoenix improved to 14-3 on the season and
3-0 in Horizon League play. Sykes also made 50 percent of his three-pointers (9 of 18) and added five rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.
Sykes impressive week leaves him with 1,809 career points, moving him into fourth place on Green Bay’s all-time scoring list.
