Green Bay women claim HL title outright

Green Bay Phoenix logo 2The Green Bay Phoenix women’s basketball team captured it’s 17th straight Horizon League women’s championship, knocking off Oakland 70-55 at the Athletics Center O’Rena in Rochester, Michigan.

Green Bay (23-4, 13-1 HL) shot 55.2 percent (16 of 29) in the first half and took an 18-point lead into halftime.  They went on to avenge their only conference loss against Oakland earlier this season.

Sam Terry had 16 points to lead the Phoenix.  Tesha Buck tallied 15 points and a career-high eight assists and Mehryn Kraker added 14 points and six rebounds for the Phoenix.

Green Bay travels to Youngstown State on Saturday.
