Marquette’s struggles continue

February 5, 2015 By Bill Scott

MarquetteGoldenEagles2It was a tall order for Marquette to begin with.  Going on the road and trying to knock off the 7th ranked team in the country, Villanova.  As expected, the Wildcats prevailed, 70-52.

Ryan Arcidiacono scored 18 points and Darrun Hilliard had 12 as Villanova (20-2, 7-2 Big East) send the Golden Eagles (10-12, 2-8) to their sixth straight defeat.

The Wildcats led by as many as 24 points and blew the game open in the second half.

Matt Carlino scored nine points (below his 14.8 avg.) to lead Marquette, which continues its road trip at Seton Hall on Saturday.
