Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Jean Segura has  been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a broken right pinkie finger.

Segura injured the finger on Tuesday while sliding headfirst into third base.

To replace Segura, the Brewers recalled shortstop Luis Sardinas from Class AAA Colorado Springs.  Sardinas was acquired in late January from Texas in the deal that sent Yovani Gallardo to the Rangers.  In 32 games at Colorado Springs, Sardinas is hitting .288 with 18 RBI and six stolen bases.

In 33 games, Segura was hitting .262 with 2 home runs and 12 RBI.  He has six stolen bases.

The Brewers had the day off yesterday.  They’re opening a 3-game series in New York against the Mets tonight.
