Three children from Racine disappeared back in February, but are back in Southeast Wisconsin after an extensive search and efforts by several agencies that tracked them to Mexico.
Damian, 2; Diana, 8; and Angela Gasca, 10 were found last week. They’d been taken by Amanda Ibarra Gasca, their mother, and Ivan Ruiz to the home of a relative in Mexico. The children were found after warrants were issued for Ruiz on child abuse charges.
All three kids are American citizens. Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave, who just left the Human Services Director’s job a month ago, after the spring election, says they were brought home to “close family members dedicated to the well-being and safety of the children.”
Local authorities worked with state and federal officials on the recovery.
