Joe Blanton picked up his first victory in nearly two years to help the Kansas City Royals blow out the Milwaukee Brewers 10-2 on Wednesday night at Kauffman Stadium.

The Brewers have dropped five straight overall and three straight to the Royals.

Blanton (1-0) hadn’t won since June 29, 2013, while pitching for the Los Angeles Angels.  He held the Brewers to a run on five hits, striking out four and walking none.

Alcides Escobar equaled his career high with four RBIs and Lorenzo Cain, who had homered in each of the last two games, tripled, doubled and walked twice in last nights win.

Brewers right-hander Mike Fiers (3-7) took the loss, giving up six runs on eight hits and three walks in five innings.

Jimmy Nelson (3-7, 4.60) pitches he series finale for the Brewers tonight.
