Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost passed Whitey Herzog to become the winningest manager in franchise history.
Yost won his 411th game as Royals skipper with last night’s 3-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers at Kauffman Stadium.
Yost managed the Brewers from 2003 until late in the 2008 season when he was fired.
The Royals swept all four games in series, two in Milwaukee and the last two in Kansas City. They out scored the Brewers 28-11 and outhit them 55-34.
The Brewers didn’t score last night until the 5th. Gerardo Parra drove in a run with a deep sacrifice fly to center and Jonathan Lucroy drove in the second run with a run scoring single to right.
Jimmy Nelson took the loss, falling to 3-8.
Rookie Taylor Jungmann (1-1 2.25) gets the start tonight when the Brewers open a weekend series at Colorado.
