It’s right to work for the Milwaukee Brewers top draft pick, high school outfielder Trent Clark. The Brewers 15th overall pick is expected to get a signing bonus in the $2.7 million neighborhood. The deal will become official when Clark passes a physical.
Clark is considered one of the top hitters in the high school class and will be assigned to the Arizona Rookie League.
Prospects move backwards
A pair of Brewer prospects, shortstop Jake Gatewood and centerfielder Monte Harrison have been transferred from Class A Wisconsin to rookie-league Helena.
Gatewood hit .227 with 2 home runs and 10 rbi’s with 49 strikeouts over 40 games. Harrison was hitting just .148 with two homers and 11 rbi’s with 77 strikeouts in 46 games for the Timber Rattlers. The two players were two of the Brewers’ top three draft picks last year.
