People joined hands on the Trestle Trail in Menasha Sunday night to remember the victims of a random shooting that took three lives.
Alison Mayer of Affinity Health helped organize the “Hands Over the Fox” event. She says people were hugging and sharing tears, so they think they accomplished their goal.
That goal was to honor Jon Stoffel of Neenah, 33; his daughter Olivia, 11; and Adam Bentdahl of Appleton, 31. They were killed by a gunman on May 3.
Menasha Mayor Don Merkes says they also wanted to reclaim the bridge for the community.
Erin Stoffel, 32, was also shot three times, and she was released from a hospital just over a week ago. She’s the wife of Jon and mother of Olivia.
