Report: Former Brewer Darryl Hamilton killed in murder-suicide

June 22, 2015 By Bill Scott

Brewers logoAccording to a Houston Chronicle report, former Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Darryl Hamilton was found dead in Houston in an apparent Murder-suicide.

The 50-year-old Hamilton played for the Brewers played from 1988-’95 and went on to play for the Texas Rangers, San Francisco Giants, Colorado Rockies and New York Mets.  Hamilton also spent time forking in the MLB central office and served most recently as an analyst for the MLB Network.

Hamilton also returned to Milwaukee last season to work radio broadcasts for road games in which Bob Uecker didn’t work.

The Houston Chronicle reported  that investigators indicated that it appeared Hamilton had been shot more than once and his girlfriend Monica Jordan died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Hamilton was a career .291 hitter with 1,333 hits, 707 runs scored and 454 RBI’s.  He was a part of four playoff teams, including the 2000 National League Champion New York Mets.
