It’s an unusual day in Portage County Circuit Court. Three different people convicted of a homicide charge are all being sentenced Tuesday.
First David P. Bronk, 64, goes before Judge John Finn at 9:30 a.m. Bronk was found guilty April 23rd in a plea agreement of supplying drugs to Ethan Eckerson, 22, of Plover February 9th, 2014. Investigators found prescription pills including methadone and a logbook of sales when they executed a search warrant at his residence on Dixon Street in Stevens Point.
Then at 1:30 p.m., two more people will be sentenced across the hall from each other. Andrew Pray was convicted of striking his stepfather Christopher Bonnstetter, 77, with a baseball bat as he lay resting on the living room floor May 26th of 2014. Bonnstetter was removed from life support and died on June 3rd of last year. Judge Thomas Eagon found Pray guilty after a four day jury trial ended March 12th.
At the same time, Judge Thomas Flugar will sentence Erik E. Olsen, 27, of Hancock for supplying the heroin that killed UWSP student Jordan Peterson of Markesan. Peterson was found dead in an off-campus apartment November 17th, 2013 by his roommate.
The two drug cases involving David Bronk and Erik Olsen were 2nd degree reckless homicide charges. Andrew Pray was convicted of first degree intentional homicide.
