Governor Scott Walker was in Boone, Iowa over the weekend making appearances for his anticipated, but not yet announced, run for president. With the Supreme Court expected to rule on gay marriage later this month, Walker told ABC’s “This Week” he believes marriage is between one man and one woman, and the issue doesn’t belong at the federal level. “I believe that the decision to define marriage should be left up to the states, yeah.”
The Wisconsin Republican governor said the federal government shouldn’t tell the states about what marriage is, WSAU writes.
Walker is expected to announce whether he will join the crowded Republican field seeking the presidency before the end of the month. He is leading the most recent polls in Iowa.
