Bucks turn their attention to Monroe, Lopez

July 2, 2015 By Bill Scott

Milwaukee Bucks logo 10The Milwaukee Bucks were hoping to land Dallas Mavericks center Tyson Chandler with the start of NBA Free Agency on Wednesday.  That prospect quickly ended when Chandler agreed to a 4-year deal with the Phoenix Suns worth $52 million.

It means the Bucks now turn their attention to Detroit Pistons free agent Greg Monroe.  The 6’11 big man met with the Bucks, Portland Trail Blazers, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers.

The 25-year-old Monroe averaged 15.9 points and 10.2 rebounds a game for the Pistons last season.

The Bucks also met with 27-year-old center Robin Lopez who played the last two seasons in Portland.  Lopez averaged 9.6 points and 6.7 rebounds a game for the Trailblazers last season.
