The State Supreme Court plans to announce its ruling on Thursday in three cases filed against a long-running John Doe probe into activities by conservative groups and Governor Scott Walker’s campaign during the 2012 recall elections
The court issued a notice this morning of the impending decisions, which include two cases brought by unnamed petitioners. The three-year-old probe has been looking into alleged illegal coordination of campaign fundraising and other activities between Walker’s campaign and other GOP Senate recall candidates, and outside conservative groups.
No charges have been filed in connection with the investigation, which was halted by a state judge over a year ago. That ruling quashed subpoenas issued in the case and found the contact between the groups was not illegal. A special prosecutor asked the courts to review that action.
