Wisconsin’s unemployment rate remained unchanged in June, with monthly jobs numbers from the state Department of Workforce development showing unemployment in Wisconsin at 4.6 percent.
The rate was unchanged from May, and still below the national unemployment rate of 5.3 percent. The state’s unemployment rate in April was 4.4 percent.
State officials report that over 36,000 private sector jobs were created from June 2014 to June 2015, with 8,100 jobs in manufacturing, 4,200 jobs in financial activities and another 8,200 positions in healthcare and social assistance.
The report also shows 300 jobs were lost in June but that number will likely be revised once the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics releases their quarterly report, which economists consider to be more accurate.
