The Milwaukee Brewers have added Ryan Braun to the list of players that have been shut down for the rest of the season.
Braun has been dealing with a herniated disc in his lower back and it’ll require surgery during the offseason.
The Brewers have six games left, three in San Diego and three at home next weekend against the Chicago Cubs.
Braun joins pitchers Jimmy Nelson and Wily Peralta as players they have shutdown for the remainder of the season. Jonathan Lucroy isn’t allowed to catch the rest of the season as well.
Braun hit .285 this season with 25 home runs and 84 runs batted in. He played in 140 games and started 132 of them.
Braun is expected to return to Los Angeles shortly after the season and likely undergo back surgery shortly after.
