A Clark County woman is due in court this week on more than two dozen animal neglect charges, after authorities say they found dozens of animals living on her property in deplorable conditions.
Law enforcement made the discovery on August 16, after responding to a report of animals being loose on 53-year-old Carolyn Christie’s farm in the town of Pine Valley. Despite sweltering heat and high humidity, they found animals without food or water. Authorities took 43 dogs and six horses from the residence, many of which were suffering from flea bites, bad dental care, ingrown nails, and poor nutrition.
Christie is facing 26 misdemeanor charges in Clark County, ranging from mistreating animals to failure to provide shelter from the sun for an animal. She’s due in court Wednesday.
