La Crosse Central 6’3 guard Kobe King gave the University of Wisconsin an oral commitment for Bo Ryan’s 2017 recruiting class on Wednesday.

As a sophomore last season, King averaged 15.8 points and 6.3 rebounds a game.  He passed on scholarship offers from Marquette, Iowa State, Drake, UW-Green Bay and Northern Iowa.

It’s uncertain whether or not Bo Ryan or associate head coach Greg Gard will be around in 2017 but Ritchie Davis, who runs the Wisconsin Playground Warriors told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Kobe and his mother are very comfortable with where things are with the program.
