McEvoy preparing to play both ways this week

September 9, 2015 By Bill Scott

Tanner McEvoy couldn’t play both ways in last week’s loss to Alabama because of a hamstring injury.  But McEvoy is working at safety and wide receiver in practice this week and is hopeful he’ll see time at both positions when the Badgers host Miami of Ohio in Wisconsin’s home opener at Camp Randall on Saturday.

The status of senior safety Michael Caputo remains unclear.  Caputo suffered a concussion on the fourth play of the game and is going through a concussion protocol.  Caputo did attend practice on Tuesday as a spectator.

Without Caputo, the Badgers defense surrendered touchdown runs of 37, 56 and 43 yards.

Corey Clement

Running back Corey Clement didn’t practice on Tuesday but the junior insisted he planned to play on Saturday.  Clement was limited in the Alabama game because of a groin injury.
