The Green Bay Packers erased memories of three straight crushing losses at Seattle with a 27-17 victory over the Seahawks at Lambeau Field on Sunday night.
The Packers blew a 13-3 lead, but came back with eleven unanswered points in the fourth quarter to pull out the victory.
Aaron Rodgers completed 25-of-33 for 249 yards and two touchdowns. One touchdown pass came to James Jones and the deciding score in the fourth quarter went to tight end Richard Rodgers with 9:28 left to play.
The Packers sealed their victory with a one-handed interception by Jayrone Elliott. Then Elliott forced a fumble that was recovered by Micah Hyde with 22 seconds left to play.
Mason Crosby booted four field goals, surpassing Ryan Longwell to become the Packers’ all-time leading scorer with 1,057 career points.
Eddie Lacy left the game with an ankle injury in the first quarter and didn’t return. His backup, James Starks ran for 95 yards. Defensive end Josh Boyd was carted off with an ankle injury and Davante Adams left with an ankle injury but later returned.
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson threw for 206 yards and two scores. He also rushed for 78 more yards, but the Packers held Marshawn Lynch to 41 yards rushing and 21 yards receiving.
The Seahawks fall to 0-2 for the first time in four years. The Packers are 2-0 and may have put themselves into position as the favorite to represent the N-F-C in the Super Bowl, if they weren’t already there.
Next up for the Packers, a home game against the Kansas City Chiefs, next Monday night at Lambeau Field.
