Wisconsin’s unemployment rate fell slightly in August.
Figures released by the state Department of Workforce Development show Wisconsin had a seasonally-adjusted jobless rate last month of 4.5 percent. That’s down 0.1 percent from July, and 0.6 percent below the national rate for August of 5.1 percent.
DWD estimates there were 7,200 private sector jobs created last month.
The numbers are based on a survey of about 3.5 percent of the state’s employers.
