Badger Hockey Round-up

Motion WThe Wisconsin Badgers pulled their goaltender in the final minute and it paid off.  Sophomore defenseman Tim Davison found the back of the net with 20 seconds left to salvage a 5-5 tie at Ferris State on Friday night.

The Badgers entered the final period with a 4-2 lead but weren’t able to hold it.

Wisconsin (0-2-3) extended its winless streak to 13 games, dating back to last season.  Seamus Malone, Jake Linhart, Grant Besse and Will Johnson also scored goals for the Badgers.

The  two teams wrap up their series in Big City, Michigan tonight.

Badger women extend win streak

The Badger women locked up a fifth straight shutout victory on Friday night, blanking Bemidji State 3-0 at a sold-out LaBahn Arena.

Goaltender Ann-Renee Desbiens stopped all 19 shots she faced to post the shutout.

Rachel Jones and Sam Cogan each scored in the first period for the Badgers and sophomore Annie Pankowski scored her ninth goal of the season with 23 seconds left, extending her point-scoring streak to ten-straight games.

Bemidji State and Wisconsin wrap up the series this afternoon.
