Wisconsin hockey recap (Saturday)

Motion WSenior goaltender Megan Miller’s first shutout powered the Wisconsin Badgers to a 2-0 win over St. Cloud State (2-4) on Saturday, completing a two-game weekend sweep.

Erika Sowchuk broke a scoreless tie early in the second period with her first goal of the season.

Neither team scored again until an empty-net goal by Annie Pankowski with 21 seconds left to play.

Miller stopped all 14 shots she faced, leading Wisconsin (6-0) to a fourth straight shutout victory.

The Badgers return home next weekend to face Bemidji State at LaBahn Arena.

Badger Men Fall at B-U

Sophomore forward Adam Rockwood scored just 82 seconds into Saturday’s game at Boston University, but the Badgers couldn’t add to it, falling 4-1.

Wisconsin (0-2-2) is still looking for its first victory.  Freshman goaltender matt Jurusik stopped 40 shots, including 16 in the first period.

Wisconsin remains on the road next weekend with a series at Grand Rapids, Michigan against Ferris State.
