Altoona man arrested in shooting

November 16, 2015 By WRN Contributor

An Altoona man is under arrest, after he allegedly told authorities he shot a man. Fifty-five-year-old Randy Perry of Warrens died at a home east of Black River Falls in the Jackson County town of Knapp. Twenty-seven-year-old Michael Nelson of Altoona was arrested.

Sheriff Duane Waldera said deputies in neighboring Monroe County were told that a caller shot a man just before 1:30 Sunday morning. Nelson reportedly did not leave the scene and cooperated with officers.

The State Justice Department, its crime lab, and the State Patrol were helping local officers with an investigation that continues.
