Badgers pull away in second half for fourth win

November 26, 2015 By Bill Scott

Motion WThe Wisconsin Badgers had a difficult time shaking off Prairie View A & M until midway through the second half.  The Badgers pulled away for a 85-67 win over the Panthers.

Prairie View trailed by just six points at halftime and was within two with 16:30 left in the second half.

Bronson Koenig scored 16 points and Zak Showalter added 14 for the Badgers, who his 21 of 26 free throws and scored 29 points off of 19 Panther turnovers.

Ethan Happ had 12 points and eight rebounds.

As has been the case in college basketball this season, the game struggled to get a rhythm because of fouls.  the two teams combined for 45 fouls, 27 for the Prairie View and 18 for the Badgers.

Guard Tevin Bellinger scored 21 to lead the Panthers, who hit 7 of 11 three-pointers (70%) and hit 23 of 46 shots (50%) overall.

The Badgers are off until Sunday when they travel to 7th-ranked Oklahoma, followed by a road game at Syracuse next Wednesday.
