Bronson Koenig scored a game high 23-points to lead the Wisconsin Badgers to a 92-65 win over Siena in men’s college basketball action.  The win comes two days after the Badgers embarrassing season-opening loss to Western Illinois on Friday night.

Wisconsin (1-1) started slow on defense but picked up the pace as the game went along.

Siena hit seven of their first eleven shots against the Badgers, but finished 3 of 16 from three-point range (18.8%) and 22 of 56 overall (39.3%).

The Badgers, after shooting poorly in the opener on Friday, shot 58.5% from the field themselves in the victory.

The Badgers also shot 83% (25 of 30) from the free throw line.

Alex Illikainen and Brevin Pritzl both made their freshman debuts for the Badgers.  Illikainen scored six points and Pritzl didn’t attempt a shot.

The Badgers return to the Kohl Center on Tuesday night against North Dakota.
