The Green Bay Phoenix led 38-28 at halftime and held that lead for most of the second half. But Stanford battled back and took its first lead of the game at 70-69 with 2:06 to play.
The Cardinal went on to beat the Phoenix in overtime 93-89, spoiling Linc Darner’s coaching debut in the NIT Season Tip-Off.
Carrington Love led the Phoenix with 32 points. Charles Cooper added 19 points, including a basket and free throw to force overtime with four seconds left.
Christian Sanders had 23 points to lead the way for Stanford.
