The Wisconsin men’s hockey team came from behind to forge a 6-6 tie with Big Ten preseason favorite Michigan on Saturday in Ann Arbor.
The Wolverines got the extra point by winning the shootout.
Matthew Freytag scored the last two goals for Wisconsin to tie the game in regulation. Neither team scored in overtime.
Ryan Wagner scored the first two goals for Wisconsin (3-6-5, 1-0-1-0 Big Ten). Tim Davison scored for the fifth time in the last two games and Kevin Schulze had a second-period goal.
Goaltender Matt Jurusik stopped 34 shots in goal for the Badgers, who were out-shot 40-34. The Badgers went three-for-five on the power play.
The Badgers continue their road trip, at Michigan State next weekend.
