Juveniles held in connection with threats to the Eau Claire School District

December 23, 2015 By WRN Contributor

Four juveniles have been taken into custody in Eau Claire, after threats to a school in the community were found posted on social media. Eau Claire police said the threats were made at various times over the past week, but were discovered Monday night and Tuesday.

The threatening messages referenced shootings at an Eau Claire high school, and were posted using an anonymous social media app called “Brighten.” With help from that company, police were able to identify those who posted the threats.

The four minors are being held in juvenile detention. The school district did not believe students were actually in any danger and classes were held as usual on Tuesday.
