Neenah Police have released the name of the suspect in a weekend hostage situation, along with the name of a man shot while trying to flee from the business.
45-year-old Brian Flatoff was arrested Saturday after he walked out of Eagle Nation Cycles, about four hours after police responded to reports of gunshots. He’s currently being held in the Winnebago County Jail awaiting formal charges, which may not be filed until later this week.
Officials have also identified a man killed during the incident as 60-year-old Michael Funk, who police have said was shot by at least one officer while trying to leave the building while carrying a gun. Funk’s attorney says the man was a hostage.
The state Division of Criminal Investigation is handling the case.
