Shoppers were sent running for cover Saturday, after gun shots rang out inside Madison East Towne Mall.

Madison Police said a 19-year-old man was taken to a hospital with a leg wound after an argument between two groups of teenagers turned violent. A mall employee had a bullet go through a pant leg when it ricocheted, but that person was not injured.

At least 10 people were involved in the shooting, which prompted an evacuation of the mall during a busy holiday shopping weekend. The building was closed for several hours, but did reopen again on Saturday evening.
