Warhawks bounced in D-3 football semifinals

December 13, 2015 By Bill Scott

UW-Whitewater Warhawk logoMount Union will be back in the Alonzo Stagg bowl next weekend, but two-time defending champion Whitewater won’t be there to defend its crown.

The Purple Raiders ended the Wisconsin school’s hopes for a third straight championship with a 36-6 win in Alliance, Ohio on Saturday.

Whitewater turned the ball over three times and gave up 441 yards to Mount Union, which will now meet St. Thomas in Salem, Virginia, next weekend.

The Purple Raiders will be going for their 12th N-C-A-A Division 3 title, dating back to 1993.
