Man in custody following drive-by shooting in Shawano

January 5, 2016 By WRN Contributor

No one was hurt in an exchange of gunfire Monday night in Shawano. Police say they were called to the 600 block of W. Richmond Street just after 10 p.m.

Witnesses said a person in a pickup truck drove past a group of people standing on the sidewalk and started firing a rifle at the group. A person in the group who police say legally owned a handgun fired back, hitting the truck several times as it left the area.

The house behind where the people were standing was struck by a bullet, but no one was injured.

Police believe the shooting was not random; the people involved were specifically targeted. The driver of the truck, 23-year-old Tony J. Brunker, was arrested.
