Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Ty Montgomery told reporters on Tuesday that he had surgery on his left ankle two weeks ago and expects to return to 100-percent by next season.
The rookie wideout said the surgery would repair cartilage and ligament damage in his left ankle which he suffered in mid-October in a Packers’ home win over San Diego.
Montgomery almost returned in late November at Minnesota, but he re-injured the ankle at practice. He says he felt as if his bones were not being held in place.
Montgomery started three games and played in six during his rookie season, with 15 catches for 136 yards and two touchdowns. He also averaged 31 yards on seven kickoff returns.
