Pewaukee family reunited with dog after car crash

January 6, 2016 By WRN Contributor

A Pewaukee man has been reunited with his dog after she disappeared from an I-94 accident scene in Racine County last week. AlGene Caraulia’s mother was returning from Ohio when the accident occurred. She wasn’t seriously hurt, while both of his dogs got out of the damaged car. One was struck and killed, and his whippet, named Violet, ran away.

Caraulia got word from the Belle City Veterinary Hospital in Mount Pleasant that someone living a few miles from the accident scene found Violet, took care of her, and then brought her to the facility. That is where her microchip led to the phone call. Violet is recovering from a few injuries, along with some weight-loss.
