SNC extends conference win streak

January 31, 2016 By Bill Scott

St. Norbert College logoThe St. Norbert College Green Knights came from four-points down in the closing minutes to knock host Carroll College 74-72 in a key Midwest Conference battle on Saturday in Waukesha.

The Green Knights (16-2, 13-0 MWC) moved two games plus the tie-breaker in front of Carroll (14-3, 10-2) with five games left to play.

The win extended the Green Knights Midwest Conference win streak to 57 consecutive games, now just four away from tying and five wins away from breaking the previous record set by Wheaton College of Illinois in the late 1950’s.

D.J. DeValk had 19 points to lead the Green Knights while Ben Widdes had 17 to lead Carroll College.

With five games left in the regular season, the Green Knights could set the consecutive conference game win streak in the final game, Saturday, Feb. 20th at Cornell.  St. Norbert plays three of its final five Midwest Conference games on the road, starting with a trip to Appleton on Wednesday night to face Lawrence University.
