Wisconsin unemployment rate jumped slightly in December

January 22, 2016 By Andrew Beckett

The state’s unemployment rate saw a slight increase during the month of December, although it remained well below the national number.

The state Department of Workforce Development says the seasonally adjusted jobless rate in December was at 4.3 percent, up one-tenth of a point from November. The national unemployment rate for last month was at five percent.

A preliminary total of about 7,000 jobs were added in Wisconsin last month, although the figure is based on a small survey of less than four-percent of the state’s employers.
