Ashwaubenon officer justified in shooting armed suspect

February 25, 2016 By WRN Contributor

Charges will not be filed against an Ashwaubenon Public Safety officer who shot and killed an armed robbery suspect last September.

Dustin Kuik of Two Rivers was shot on September 9, 2015, in the parking lot of a Lambeau Field-area hotel after officers say Kuik refused orders to drop his weapon and started to enter the hotel.

Kuik was wanted as a suspect in the armed robbery of a Mishicot convenience store a few days earlier. Based on a complete review of the case, Brown County District Attorney David Lasee says Officer Brian Murphy acted lawfully to use deadly force.

Kuik’s girlfriend, Raeana Nagy, is facing conspiracy charges for the robbery. Investigators say she was working at the convenience store when Kuik robbed it.
