Horizon League Update

February 14, 2016 By Bill Scott

Horizon League LogoHorizon League Pre-season Player of the Year Kay Felder poured in 28 points to lead Oakland to a 111-93 win over the Green Bay Phoenix on Saturday.

The Golden Grizzlies converted 12-of-30 three-point chances and hit 29-of-33 free throws in the win.

It’s the second loss this season for the Phoenix against Oakland and the second time that Green Bay has allowed the Golden Grizzlies to score 111 points in a game.

Green Bay (15-11, 7-6 HL) fell behind 15-0 to star the game before charging back to take a two-point lead.  But Oakland went on a 11-to-nothing run and the Phoenix would not be able to recover.

Charles Cooper and Tevin Findlay had 18 points each for the Phoenix.  Green Bay’s Jordan Fouse became the school’s all-time leader in rebounds.  Fouse had eight boards in the game, surpassing Green Bay Athletics Hall of Famer Dennis Woelffer for first on the all-time list.  Fouse now has 953 rebounds.  He also previously set the schools all-time steals record.

The Titans lead grew to as much as 18 points in the second half before the Panthers cut it to nine.

Matt Tiby led Milwaukee (16-10, 7-6 HL) with 22 points.
