Formal charges have been filed against a Milwaukee man accused of planning to carry out a mass shooting.
Prosecutors have charged 23-year-old Samy Hamzeh with three weapons-related counts, in connection with an alleged plot to attack a Masonic center in Milwaukee. Hamzeh was arrested last month after buying two guns and a silencer from undercover agents.
A federal grand jury on Tuesday handed down indictments on two counts of possessing a machine gun, and one for having a silencer. Each of the charges carry a sentence of up to ten years in prison.
