Report: Lang to undergo shoulder surgery Wednesday

According to an ESPN.com report, Green Bay Packers right guard T.J. Lang will undergo right shoulder surgery on Wednesday.

Lang played through injuries to both shoulders this season and said he anticipated needing surgery on both shoulders moving forward.  He missed one game this season and only two since becoming a starter in 2011.

Despite playing hurt throughout the 2015 season, Lang only allowed two sacks.

The 28-year-old is entering the final season of a four-year, $22 million contract.  He should have one more sizeable contract ahead, assuming he continues to play at the level he’s been playing at.

Lang told ESPN.com’s Rob Demovsky, “I don’t want to look too far ahead, but I don’t want to be playing next year with more pain than what I have right now.  Obviously, that’s a business decision.”
