Madison’s Steve Stricker is tied for 31st after the opening day of the P-G-A’s Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Stricker shot a two-under-par 69 on Thursday.  He’s four strokes behind co-leaders Rickie Fowler, Hideki Matsuyama and Shane Lowry.

The tournament started one hour late because of cold, frosty conditions at the T-P-C course in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Pewaukee native Mark Wilson only made it through 14 holes when darkness took over.  Wilson is at one-under, in a tie for 47th place.
