Apparent suicide at town hall in Outagamie County

March 15, 2016 By WRN Contributor

The Outagamie County sheriff’s department is investigating a shooting Tuesday afternoon at the Buchanan Town Hall. Sergeant Terry Hammen said a man walked into the building on County Highway N about 5 miles east of Appleton at about 1:00 p.m., pulled out a gun, and a shot was fired.

Investigators were still interviewing witnesses Tuesday. Hammen could not confirm that the man shot himself and also couldn’t say whether the man said anything before the shot was fired.
