Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz made a campaign stop in Oshkosh on Friday morning. The Texas Senator held a town hall meeting in a packed warehouse at Lakeside Plastics.
He told the crowd he would repeal every word of President Obama’s health care reform law. He called it the biggest job killer in America. Cruz says he would pass common sense health care that’s portable, and affordable.
Cruz also said he’d create a flat tax, so people can “file their taxes on a postcard,” and abolish the IRS. He wants to reign in the EPA and the federal regulators that he argues are killing small businesses around the country.
Cruz said he’d oppose amnesty for illegal immigrants, secure the border, put an end to sanctuary cities, and make sure illegal immigrants aren’t getting welfare benefits. “And when we do all of that, we’re going to see millions and millions of new high-paying jobs.”
Cruz is the first presidential candidate to make a stop in northeast Wisconsin.
